2003 Quinta do Portal vintage port

Closed on the nose, with some damp blackberries. Restrained on the palate, the fruit takes a while to show through but the layers of fruit are fabulous, ending with pure blueberry. Tannins are present but very soft. The fruit dominates the whole of this delicious wine. 90/100.
Top Ports in 2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.

2025: Quevedo 1972 Colheita, b.2024. Just as good as Niepoort 1900!
