One of a few bottles I acquired from Virgin wines to satisfy an emerging taste for younger port. Since I last tried one of these, the sediment appears to have become more pronounced - is it perhaps going through 'a phase'?

This is a real dark red, without having that squid like inkiness some very young ports have. Despite the lack of planning (immediate removal from rack and decanting!) it did decant quite cleanly. The smell is that pear drop like alchol I often get but the taste is much more fruity with tannins that cling to the mouth in a magnetic kind of way!

I am sure this will continue to improve and I hope I have the will power to leave some bottles to do so. In the meantime, I am thinking I may produce one of these at a suitable tasting to see what others make of it!

It was at the Guimaraens vertical (TN).
