1975 Dows Vintage Port

Post by griff »

I received this wine as part of a job lot. Thankfully only the one.

Opened with some bottle stink. Full tawny colour. Cleared up after a few hours to provide almonds and some caramel. Rancio on the finish. No heat as feared from other reports but not a patch on a good 20 year old tawny. 24 hours hours on and it has decayed. I have a 1975 Warres that needs to be next I expect.

Thanks for the note.

I tend to pop and pour 1975s and only open one when I intend reaching the bottom of the decanter in one sitting. They do not seem to respond well to time in the decanter.
