Mid-red colour, looking mature; quite light at only 50% opaque. Dusty strawberries on the nose and some soft sage underneath that. Not hugely attractive. Light bodied; soft and gentle texture. Lovely flavours, full of soapy cherries and soem spicy heat. Lots of spice on the sweet aftertaste - with the benefit of some tannin-based cocoa and plenty of candied fruit on the finish. Lost weight in the glass as the evening went on and earned a reduced score of 84, down from 86/100. (Guessed to be Cockburn 1970.)

Decanted 3-4 hours.

My note says "Brick red - cherry and heat on the nose. Quite mouth-filling but hot. Bitter chocolate. Perhaps needs more time in the decanter?"

This did improve for a while but then started to fade, which I think is typical of this wine. I think it was a fair example of C67, but not as good as some bottlings I have tasted.
