A bit darker than the other 1985 Graham. Very muted on the nose. In the mouth, very robust. Dense, tannic and woody. Slightly bitter. Medium aftertaste. Needs more time to open up.

(Two bottles tested, as first appeared partly corked.)

This second bottle was very similar to the first in colour/smell, medium dark colour, quite spirited but almost no smell. This bottle was much nicer than the first to taste with no 'partly corked' edge; very strong/dense flavour, slightly woody and fairly dry.

(edited to separate bottle reviews)

Deep and intense red in colour, 99% opaque. Fresh black grapes on the nose, minty taint but quite closed. Medium bodied, with a slightly watery texture. The volume of flavour grows on the palate, but has a harsh and acidic edge to it. There is lots of promise in the palate, but it is not quite delivering (perhaps the short decant?). Tannins are soft but present, fruit is plummy but struggles to dominate. The aftertaste is hot and is followed by a sweet, black licorice finish that has plenty of heat. This is a good port that is a decade from being ready. Guessed to be T85, T80, D91. 88/100.
