Tasted at this event on 19th July 2011.

My note from 19th July reads:

"Cherry nose - lots of spice - long and delicious."

I think I voted this in my 3 top wines of the night. RAYC kept score so perhaps he can confirm?

From a sample bottle kept in the fridge for one week...

Still a lovely red cherry nose. A good weight with lots of red fruit but quite hot in the mid-palate. A long peppery finish that is delicious. Apart from the heat, which could be down to the prolonged time since decanting, this is great drinking port for right now.

I can't imagine that Warre 1970 will get any better from here. It's by no means in decline but if you want to enjoy it at its peak you should be drinking it now.

I think this was in my top 3 on the night.
