1995 Ramos Pinto LBV (unfiltered)

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

Bottled unfiltered in 1999. Deep red in colour, no purple. Appearing in the early stages of maturity. Opaque. Nosing of blackcurrants and sage, fresh and attractive. Medium bodied entry, very flavoursome. Large amounts of sweet fruit with a good dose of fruity acidity. Good complexity on the palate. Great aftertaste, with a long finish of soft chocolate and bitter blackcurrant. Impressive port, excellent LBV with more years of improvement in the cellar ahead of it. 90/100. Drunk 17 September 2011.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
