2000 Warre LBV (Bottle Matured)
It felt like time to try another of these after being reminded how well it showed at our January tasting. According to the label, bottled in 2004. Decanted and drunk immediately. A very fine sediment. Cork in great condition.

Very dark red with a lovely blackcurrant edge to it. Spicy on the nose - almost peppery. Swirled round the mouth, the tannins really kick in, with that lovely sensation of your mouth being sucked dry! Plenty of fruit to entertain as well.

This is showing really well and will probably improve over the next 5-10 years. Do I have the patience to find out though, given how much I am enjoying this now!?

But see my comment at the end of this tasting note on the 1974 Warre LBV. Perhaps 5-10 years might still not be enough time to see what this wine can do?

Was this bottle related to the one you brought along to The Crusting Pipe in January?

I am hoping I will be in a position to test your 30-40 year theory!

I bought 3 of these 1974 LBVs. The first was opened at the LBV offline at TCP. This was the second bottle. I'll probably open the third bottle next year since I bought them to act as cellar defenders.
