On Tuesday 11th October 2011, at the RAF Club, was held a ‘square’ tasting of {Dow, Fonseca, Graham, Taylor} × {1963, 1966, 1970, 1977}. Our honoured guest was Cynthia Jenson, official blogger to the Symingtons.

Don't think i finished this, and can't remember whether it was horrible or just shot. In any event, not good, and i would like to try again. NR

Light to medium and slightly yellow colour. Smelled of vinegar, tasted of paint stripper; absolutely foul and obviously a completely ruined port - undrinkable (and that's the edited version of my rather less polite tasting note from the night!).

Very pale colour, light orange; 20% opaque. Chemical tainted nose, smelly and oxidised, some burnt caramel. Burnt rubber and burnt caramel in the mouth. Reasonable aftertaste. Not a representative bottle of this wine. Served blind and guessed to be Taylor. Not rated.
