2006 Quevedo LBV
Red, but starting to show some loss of colour; 80% opaque. Tarry nose, with youthful fruit showing well. Tannins show themselves immediately on the palate with a sharp acidity. The structural elements of the wine somewhat overwhelm the fruit. The finish is lovely, mouthfilling and driven by the chocolatey tannins. Bottled 2011. This was served blind on 13 October 2011 and was popped and poured. 85/100 and a bottle I'd like to try again over an extended period of time before I make up my mind about it.
