Group purchase from TCP. £85

Rich and dark, but slightly one-dimensional showing - not quite up to the standard of its peers at this tasting, and I'm sure the short decant did not help - particularly as this bottle felt young by comparison to the bottle tasted a few weeks ago and could really do with another 5-10 years in the cellar. I think I will leave the bottles I purchased from Davy's (@£32 off the retail list...) for a few years on the assumption that mine will be in similar condition. **(*) (85)

Deep red in colour, solid rim; 90% opaque. Hint of petrol on the nose, subdued fruit. Sweet and hollow on entry; fruit is reserved and the first impression is of the tannins, although these fade quickly to leave only the lightweight fruit. Hot aftertaste, then a lingering dry finish where the fruit finally shows through. A poor bottle, not showing as well as it could or should. 1 hour decant. Drunk 27 October 2011. 81/100.

O80, TCP: very dark, 80% opaque. Closed, with big dark fruit. Somebody suggested, concisely and accurately, a ‟green streak”. Little tannic structure. Ronnie thought that it will disintegrate.
