Wasn't sure what to make of this but I think this bottle was flawed in some way

it was completely brown

the nose was completely muted

It was spirity cherries (like when one takes some >80 proof brandy and threw some cherries in it)

very cough syrup like finish too.

but the tell tale "corked" flavors were not present.

This bottle simply just fell apart indicative of an over mature wine.

This showed similarly to the bottle I had a few weeks ago, but fundamentally this is an intimate, feminine port, that is unlikely to stand out especially well in a big group tasting with a bunch of more tannic wines.

Still, this was showing nice rosepetal characteristics, and was a very enjoyable little drink. Good mid saturday afternoon, early fall port.

was this picked up from the same lot chris?

I have 3 other bottles and I swore that my bottles have shown better than this one did.

Minty sharp nose, with a light flavor (in a nice way) and an earthy tail. Y says "ick" of the nose.
