(This was the last year in which the grapes at Bomfim were foot trodden.) Deep red centre with an orange / rose rim; 80% opaque. A touch of mint on the nose (but it was hot) with over-ripe oranges and some toffee; very attractive. Thick texture; balanced entry with the fruit dominant and the tannins still noticeable. Good, balanced acidity. A nice structure but a little less fruit than in the Graham '63 shown alongside - not an austere port, but certainly less voluptuous. Big aftertaste that leaves dry cheeks and a powerful finish of terrific length. This port has great levels of fruit and a delightful balance. No hurry to drink this one. 93/100. Drunk 14 October 2011.
