1970 Dow vintage port

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

Very slightly darker than the Graham 1970 shown alongside, 80% opaque. Red centre, very attractive appearance. Fresh, citrus nose with sour cherries, tobacco and cedar wood. Balanced entry and a balanced mid-palate. The fruit is gentle and in perfect harmony with very mild tannins and gentle acidity - perfect poise. Balanced aftertaste, with a long and lovely finish. This is a beautiful port, with a delightful balance. 92/100. Drunk 14 October 2011.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
