1975 Dow vintage port

Post by Zelandakh »

Dow 75 received from a reputable source and careful cellarage.

Decanted Christmas Eve for consumption D+24.
On decanting - little nose, pale colouring. Has the look of an old tawny. Tasting not attempted.

D+24:
Eye - pale, brownish aiming towards orange with the look of an old port. Clear miniscus, very smooth legs.
Nose - dried fruits in general.
Mouth - Cointreau, oranges, chocolate on the front of the mouth, slightly peppery middle, very smooth but not over long finish.

Score - this fits most of my requirements. Beautifully open and dry. 91.

I'd certainly be adding this to my cellar.
