Re: 1970 Croft (magnum)
Cr70: red, 65% opaque. As with its older siblings, a lovely colour. To start soft soft, then much larger mid-palate with some heat. Long and lovely. A touch lighter than the Cr66, perhaps because not so unctuous. Very fine port, and joy doubled a magnum of very fine port.

Smells of rubber - it reminded me of the smell of a new bicycle tyre. Great colour, thick and delicious with lots of tannin and a long life ahead. Very good port.

Re: 1970 Croft (magnum)
Magnum. Mature red; 45% opaque. Spicy redcurrant nose - is there a slight hint of cardboard? Elegance and balance on entry, with blood oranges dominating the flavour profile. A touch hollow on the aftertaste but a nice, mid-weight finish of modest length. There's something not quite right. 87/100. 6½ hours decant.
