Cork, with image whitened:

Df92, dark dark red, 80% opaque. Nose had plums. Rich plum flavour, strong heat especially early, mid-to-light weight. Nicely constructed port.

Not in my top three, but it collected enough second, third and third-equal placement to total a respectable fourth place. Needs cellar time.

Only 20 pipes of this vintage were bottled. Deep red in colour, 95% opaque. Violets and redcurrants on the nose, sharp and focused. Sharp edge to the attack, sweet and concentrated fruit but sharply acidic. A good concentration of fruit, with sharp blackberries on the lingering finish. Enjoyable and promising. 85/100.

Really deep purple. Opaque. Slightly subdue nose. Some tobacco at the end of the palate. In the mouth, initial hit of sugar. Then deeply tannic and hard work. Very, very good but needs 20+ years.
