1975 Fonseca

Firm red colour with a mahogany tone. Dusky nose, very attractive, full of dried dates and tobacco. Sweet entry, quite neutral; patience allows gentle currants and raisin flavours to develop with a sweet spiciness at the core. Very gentle but very enjoyable flavours. Very soft and gentle aftertaste, then a medium sized but long finish of ripe, sweet dates and concentrated mandarin. 89/100.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
