On Wednesday 2nd May 2012 Johnny Symington joined some regulars at The Bung Hole” , partly to show off the Graham 1952 Single Harvest Tawny. All this after a day spent at The Big Fortified Tasting.

S66, brought by DRT. Glorious red, 60% opaque. Nose had coffee bitterness. In the palate the same bitterness early, mid weight, light mid-palate, with heat late. Indeed it seemed to fade too soon, then re-appear. Nonetheless. lovely port.

Mature red colour, muted nose that shows some spicy rose-hips. Smooth texture, hot and spicy in the mouth; lots of fruit but still youthful vigour in the palate. Spicy and dry aftertaste. Big finish, good length. Very lively port. 91/100.
