On Wednesday 2nd May 2012 Johnny Symington joined some regulars at The Bung Hole” , partly to show off the Graham 1952 Single Harvest Tawny. All this after a day spent at The Big Fortified Tasting.

Links: ”  We are boycotting the corporately anodyne new name. Really, what snorey-dull person did that?

Wolfgang wasn’t well, and when Richard Mayson arrived, seemed to seize the opportunity to retreat to bed. Get well.

Bad news and good news. Bad first: I made the mistake of tasting this last, which left me noting only ‟incredibly concentrated”. Which it was. Good news: I have the remainder of the bottle, which will come to WS’s next event.

Bottled 1973. Deep brown, mahogany colour with a green tinge. Strong VA on the nose, but not dominating over the concentrated and attractive notes. Intense palate, hugh acidity and a surprising tannic dryness on the palate. Intense acidity burns on the aftertaste. Huge and lingering finish full of coffee. 93/100.
