G42: brick-red brown. Little nose, but the palate very unctuous. Cedar early palate, and some heat. Then marmalade, and very very long. An excellent port. JDAW.

Deep colour, brick red and with a paler rim, 60% opaque. Attractive nose, very fruity, full and rich. Luscious, silky texture. Refined, elegant and composed, with a multitude of flavours, concentrated and complex. Sometimes port sings on the palate this is one of those occasions. Soft tannins show on the aftertaste and finish, which is long and wonderful. Fabulous. 96/100. Tuesday 12 June 2012. Decanted 2½ hours.
