2007 Ferreira vintage port

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

Deep purple, with a solid rim. Closed on the nose, but with some sour cherry notes showing. Big impact on the palate, with lots of sweet and ripe fruit. Assertive tannins grip the mouth firmly and give a good counter-balance to the fruit. The aftertaste is huge, with a mass of dark chocolate and a very long finish. Terrific port. 91/100. 13-Jun-12.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.

Fr07. Purple, 99% opaque. Very sweet, dominated by grape flavours. Rather lighter than its age would suggest.
