1955 Sandeman vintage port

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

Brick red-brown, clearly mature. Slightly musty nose. Either dirty fruit!or perhaps worse. There is a slight touch of TCA on the palate, but very slight. Sharp bitterness on the tongue, and some fruit. Harsh acidity on the aftertaste and finish. Great length, but deteriorated quickly in the glass. 84/100. 13-Jun-12. 1 hour.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.

S55: brisk red, 50%. Nosed closed, with cherries. Later slight TCA detectable. To taste big, with heat mid-palate, and cherry throughout. Early palate nicely unctuous. Later though the TCA started to show.
