1966 Sandeman vintage port

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

Glowing ruby core, firm rim, 60% opaque. Beautiful sweet fruit on the nose, lifting out of the glass. Good texture, smooth and coating the tongue with rich fruit. Lovely elegance, gentle sweet strawberry and dusty tannin. Wonderful huge strawberry jam aftertaste which quickly fades to a soft strawberry and dusty tannin. Wonderful huge strawberry centred dark chocolate of impressive length. A terrific showing the best bottle of this port I have had in 5 years. 94/100. 15-Jun-12. Decanted 3 hours.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
