1984 Warre LBV (unfiltered)

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

Bottled 1988, traditional LBV. Mature looking, bricking, pale rim, 50% opaque. Slight reductive tones on the nose, a bit of dust and spirit but otherwise very flat. Sweet on the palate, a bit hollow initially but the fruit does develop a little. Modest and medium bodied. Pleasant, gentle aftertaste of sour bitter orange peel. Very modest and giving the impression that it has passed its prime. 83/100. 12-Jun-12. Decanted 1½ hours.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
