1965 Warre Colheita (bottled 1980s)

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

Bottling date unknown, estimated to be in the 1980s. Cloudy in appearance, very light amber in colour. Unattractive nose, hot, peppery and with a touch of VA. Neutral entry, with a pleasant pepperiness followed by some late grapefruit and smokey brown sugar. Light but pleasant palate. Slightly bitter finish, but with a great length that is mouthwatering and warming. Excellent lunchtime port. 85/100. 12-Jun-12.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
