2007 Dalva LBV

Post by RAYC »

Dalva 2007 lbv (bottled 2012)

Drunk @ Douro In, Regua. EUR 3.50 for 50ml.

Pop and pour - September is guest month for Dalva. Today is the 2nd.

Deep red (obviously), but suprisingly clear rim. Light ainseed and herbacious nose, more ainseed in mouth together with rounded fruit. Light-mediumweight. Quite soft in the mouth - just a hint of tannins showing through mid-late palate. Slight, pleasant, heat at finish that gives it a bit of bite, but not at all overbearing. Overall impression is subtle - not a great deal of complexity, but not simple. All in all, an accomplished LBV that serves its purpose well: ready to drink now and very gluggable. 87-88
