1977 Gould Campbell

Red in colour, very little bricking; 70% opaque. Slightly empty on the nose, with a warm earthiness the most noticeable scent. Soft and velvety texture, with sweet black-cherry fruit and firm chocolate tannins in a lovely spicy palate that also shows some birch sap bitterness. Big and full and so rich with generous levels of fruit. Fruit dominates the aftertaste and the long finish, which brings black chocolate and black licorice. Stunningly good port. 93/100. Drunk 11-Sep-12 after 7 hours decant.
