1970 Dow vintage port

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

Clear, rose coloured rim; 30% opaque. Vibrant fruit on the nose, youthful and attractive with lots of cranberry and mint. Sweet and concentrated fruit on the palate, medium bodied and thickly textured. Hot aftertaste, with an herbaceous tone, before a long and tasty finish. Served blind, I guessed this to be Taylor 1985. 88/100. Drunk 04-Sep-12.

D70, 40% opaque, red. Nose had mint and red fruit. The same fruit was in the taste, more specifically strawberry, with heat. All present reported a slight pétillant. DRT: ‟yum”.
