Shipped by Skeffington. Very dark centre, deep red rim. Youthful blackcurrants on the nose over the top of some eucalyptus from the unintegrated alcohol. A dry entry, soft and smooth. Not a lot of up front flavours but a beautiful texture. Some rich redcurrant and meat juice tones in the mid-palate as the acidity builds to try and force you to swallow the wine. Swallowing releases a lovely complex of fruit and spice flavours that leaves a lingering aftertaste of respectable length. Overall, this is a good and solid '94 that is drinking nicely now and will continue to drink well for at least the next 10 years. 5/6 or 89/100.
