Bottled 1986, bottle matured. Deep, mature red colour, firm centre perhaps 60% opaque. Subdued nose, attractive and rich cherry fruitcake. Sweet and voluptuous on the palate, rich fruit, perfectly mature but still full of ripe black cherries. A good dose of acidity keeps this well focused and balanced. The aftertaste is rich and fruity, with the tannins showing as a chocolate tone on the long and delicious finish. This is a rich LBV at the perfect point for drinking, wonderful. 90/100. Drunk 02-Nov-12. Decanted 48 hours - so keeps drinking really well over a couple of days!
