G55. Red, 40% opaque. Nose had spearmint and strawberry. Taste is rather odd. Starts with heat, then several brief layers of flavour before long sweetness. Odd, but not in any sense bad.

Brown with red glints. For some reason this just did everything I could wish for in a port. A bit like the 55's in the Fonseca v Warre tasting. I can only hope younger vintages will develop like these. Integrated nose that balanced brown spice with hints of red fruit. Rob mentioned mint and it did have some menthol. My notes say "magical!" for the palate. It really was hard for me to pin down flavours. Outstanding and my WOTN.

Deep reddish-brown, 20% opaque. Dusty fruit on the nose, but rather light. Soft and smooth entry, gentle flavours, very tertiary with a lovely spiciness and elegance. Soft aftertaste with a long and lingering tobacco finish. Gently flavoured. 88/100
