G63. Red-brown, 30% opaque. Nose had sweet red fruit. Very soft and full. Gentle heat, with very long soft sweetness going on and on. Absolutely fabulous port.

Of the six points I could give for WOTN, this ’63 and the ’66 took three each.

Lighter than 60 and 55 in colour. The nose had something unclean about it. I wrote "lacks purity". Slightly strained on the palate with a finish that wasn't as long as the 60 or 66. In fact this was a decent port but suffered between the 55, 60 and 66 for me. Very Good but I can't help wondering if there can be better showings of this.

Touch of bottle stink on the nose, but a ripe sweetness under the stink. The stink shows through on the early palate. Light and too empty of flavour, with little palate presence other than some faint cigar ash. Faint, relatively short aftertaste but a ghost of a finish lingers on. Disappointing bottle. 84/100
