1970 Cockburn vintage port

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

Beautiful red-brown colour, still firm in the centre but lightening at the rim; 50% opaque. Gentle maraschino cherry on the nose. Gentle, sweet red cherry syrup on the palate, lovely tobacco tones add a delicious complexity. Soft and elegant in the mouth, with a delicious aftertaste and big, long-lasting finish. Very fine, elegant port; perfect for drinking today. 89/100. Drunk 21-Nov-12 after decanting 3 hours.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
