1947 Cockburn

Post by g-man »

Short cork but surprisingly was not branded.

a clear amber ruby color that is consistent through out.

A delicate florally nose of violets, red currants, cinnamon and freshly ground white pepper in a baked brown sugared room, just a port you can sniff all day.

So smooth, delicate but extremely balanced honeyed dates and a light burnt birch on the mouth feel finishing with an almond liquor backdrop.

A stunning ready to drink port that doesn't require any more time waiting.

The first time I came across this port, it was the smell that so impressed me - absolutely delightful!

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
