By the glass from the Bunghole. Deep red and youthful appearance, opaque. Youthful fruit on the nose, very pronounced. Luscious fruit on the palate, rich and powerful. Good concentration of fruit on the tongue and with a strong acidic core. The ripeness of the fruit continues on the aftertaste and finish - very flavoursome. 89/100. Drunk 05-Dec-12.

Drunk as part of the Eclectic offline on 5th December 2012 at the Bunghole, Holborn.
Borges Muito Velho
Offley Boa Vista 1963 vintage port
Ramos Pinto 1959 colheita (bottled 1973)

Thanks for note, ann

Ive always been a believer in smith wood house's wines from the 70s through 85. Theyve not been immune to corkage issues, but when the juice is on, it's quite good (the 77 in particular stands out) the 83 is good in the vintage in its own right, and was available for a song in the US not too long ago.

89 sounds about what I'd hope for in cracking one open, leaving room for a little upside

Happy holidays!
