T27: red to dark red, 40% opaque. Nose horrid: soap and paint. Yuck. Not tasted.

Surprisingly dark with see-through burgundy core. Nose is not right, chemical with a hit of artificial cherry. Palate displays the same rather unpleasant fake cherry. Not rated.

Mature red appearance, rose rim; 35% opaque. Very strange nose, full of perfumed soap - really not right nor attractive. The strange flavours carry through to the unattractive palate, which is very acidic and with a hint of tannins. Hot aftertaste and a long birch sap finish. Very dried out, not what it should be, although the finish does morph into dark chocolate after a minute or two; this is quite nice and lasts well. Not rated - really not right. NR. 22-Mar-13. Decanted 1½ hours.
