Ck55: red-red-brown, 40% opaque. I didn’t note the nose. Taste had big soft fruit, then heat mid-palate. Good size and length, but heat slightly too dominant. Very long, heat showing throughout finish. Also good acidity. JDAW, January 2013

Mature red in colour, with a watery rim; 40% opaque. Attractive and floral nose, but rather restrained. Restrained on entry, showing some sweet redcurrant and sultana but surprisingly simple, straightforward and with a light texture. Candied red fruit on the aftertaste and a dry, softly tannic finish of good length that evolves into a touch of late heat. Pleasant to drink, but other bottles have shown better.
[After a further 3 hours in the glass this improved and acquired more complexity on the palate.] 86/100. 4 hour decant.
