NV Andresen White 40YO (bottled 2012)

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

A40Y White:15% opaque, apricot colour. Sweet, mouth-filling, good length. But a stranger to me: I did not know how to asses this type of wine. JDAW, January 2013

Bottled 2012. Golden amber in colour, with a green rim. Soft VA dominates the nose, but not in an unattractive way. Sweet and raisiny impact with a decent acidity to support the sweetness. Hot aftertaste, then a lemon and raisin finish of rather short length. A touch simple for a 40 year old blend. 85/100. 1 hour decant.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
