W83. Red-pink, 50% opaque. Nose of varnish, with red berries behind. Taste very acidic. DRT rightly said ‟bitter, horrible”.

A bad bottle.

Mid-red. Sticky. Caustic on the nose. Rather astringent and bitter.

Browning shade of red, looking very mature; 70% opaque. Some VA on the nose but little else. Balanced entry, some raisiny fruit but very dry underneath. Lots of VA giving violet perfume on the light palate. Dry chalky tannins never vanish but are dominated by the fruit / VA. A dry aftertaste with some heat at the start before a long and perfumed length with the dry tannins always present. Not a representative bottle. 83/100. 02-Apr-13. Decanted 8½ hours.
