From half bottle. Initially quite pale in the decanter, but darkened nicely until it became an attractive rose-red colour, 40% opaque. A touch of bottle stink on the nose, but with cherry and oats over the top. Mature and smooth entry; lovely balance. Tannins are mostly resolved but the fruit is rich, with lots of sour cherry concentrated on the palate. Big and rich finish, with a strong tobacco undertone mixed in with the sour cherry. A powerful port, with plenty of time still ahead of it. 89/100. Drunk 05-Apr-13. 1 hour decant.
