Intense colour, just transparent. Fresh on the nose, with lots of dry blackcurrants. Smooth entry, light texture but great fruit-driven impact. Huge levels of fresh fruit on the palate; little or no tannins show themselves on the palate but the dark chocolate bitterness dominates the long, long finish. (Alves de Sousa also made the 2003 and 2008 vintages, but no others.) 89/100. 20-Feb-13 at the New Douro Tasting 2013.
