1983 Ramos Pinto vintage port

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

50% Tinta 50% Touriga Nacional. Red with bricking on the rim; 60% opaque. Odd on the nose, perhaps with a touch of VA. Soft and silky entry. Plenty of fruit but the grainy tannins provide structure. A second surge of fruit on the mid-palate. Vibrant and lively on the finish. 90/100. Tasted at the BFT on 24 April 2013.
Top Ports in 2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.

2025: Quevedo 1972 Colheita, b.2024. Just as good as Niepoort 1900!
