Reddish brown colour, looking to be mature. Lovely open nose, with lots of sweet red licorice. Smooth entry and quite velvety in texture. Aniseed and red licorice on the palate but still with some tannins showing. Sweet licorice and charcoal finish. Rich and mouthfilling, this is a fine port that is now showing well. 91/100. Tasted at the BFT on 24 April 2013.

Soft entry, mature fruit and a tannic backbone. Big palate. Chewy aftertaste showing purple plums and tannins. In a good place for current drinking, but not likely to fall apart any time soon. Good port. 88/100.
