1992 Fonseca vintage port

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

Deep red centre, firm rim. Faint fruit on the nose, but very restrained. Soft fruit on the palate, showing a mix of youth and maturity. Starting to soften with age. The tannins are ripe and rounded, showing lots of promise for the future. A lovely elegance. Hot aftertaste with dry fruit on the finish. Not clear where this will end up with another 10-20 years. 86/100. Drunk 23 April 2013 with a 6 hour decant.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
