2011 Graham Stone Terraces

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

Cask sample. Purple, staining the glass when swirled. A huge nose, showing masses of violets and sweet lavender. Blanced entry with a fantastic elegance dominated by the fruit. The tannins are ripe, round and very hidden behind the fruit, which comes with a good dose of superb acidity. Fruit dominates the aftertaste and leads to a fruit driven finish of huge length. Very, very good port. Reminds me very much of the fruit driven 1994 vintage at the earliest stage of its life. 94-96. Drunk 23 April 2013 with no decant.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
