I could eulogise.. but I could not do it justice.
Medium colour, 50-57%, burnt caramel and molasses over freshness and dark fruit with sublime power and length. Seemed older than it should have, tasting to me like a 45-55 - Perhaps very, very slight hint of oxidisation, although level was very good (in neck) and perfectly balanced. From a bottle with disintegrated capsule and failing cork, this was a glory. Probably the best port I have tasted so far this year, absolutely superb.
