I've tasted these ports in october 2004
Non of below ports were decanted and all contained sediment in the glass.

Niepoort 97 VP
Strong smell of VA  . Tried to taste it, but it was just awfull. Can not get worse.

Vesuvio 97 VP
Deep ruby red colour, powerful young but smooth. Nose of cherries combined with mocca, milk chocolate, mint and dades. In the taste also more dried red fruit, leather and lots of cherries. Overall smooth, complex & sweet in style VP. 92 points

Graham's 97 VP
Deep ruby red colour, fresh in style with sweet red fruit. Bit alcoholic, mint, green and leather & tabacco hint in the nose. Complex nose and taste. Taste is rather thick, with lots of cherries, some dades & vigs, spicyness and freshness. Milk chocolate at the end. 91 points

Taylor's 97 VP
Deep ruby to purple colour. Closed, but rustic :? nose in combination with cherries and alcohol. Powerfull, almost agressive taste of cherries, spicess and laurel. Candied sugar at the end. Some hints of dades in the finish. Probably does not show its potential. 90 points
