2011 Cockburn

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

Dark purple, firm rim. Fragrant and floral nose, full of crushed nettles and ripe blueberries. Blueberry palate, restrained and livened up with a licorice root tannin that gives an elegant structure, which leads to a soft chocolate finish. This has more elegance than other 2011 ports from Symington Family Estates. 92-94. Snapshot tasting on 20 May 2013.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
