2011 Dow

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

Dark in colour, just transparent on the rim. Alcohol showing on the nose (the room was warm), slightly sharper than the G11 shown alongside. Restrained entry, very dark fruit with very grippy tannins dominating the palate. Fruit arrives late and is very sweet and ripe ... and eventually dominates the tannins. There is a hollow touch on the aftertaste before a huge, tingling finish explodes. 93-95. Snapshot tasting on 20 May 2013.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
